Suggest Treatment For Fluctuating BP And Heart Beat
Last two weeks my blood pressure is fluctuating I mean when I wake up in the morning my BP is (132 -146) upper, lower(84 - 92) heart rate 54-62, but in the night time is (128-134 upper & lower(74 - 88) heart rate (55 - 65). Is it normal, recently I,m diagnosed Hypothyrodism. I,m 49years old & almost a year I m not getting my periods, I,m concerned about my blood pressure. I,m visiting thyroid specialist.
Hi welcome to HCM. Recent fluctuations in the blood pressure can be strongly attributed to the hypothyroidism.Correction of hypothyroidism with external T4/thyroxine supplementation can bring back the thyroid function to normal and avoid further cardiac fluctuations. This can take sometime as long as 6 months depending on the degree of hypothyroidism. Its extremely important for you to get a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to assess your cardiac reserve tracking.Drugs like beta blockers can control your blood pressure.Consult your doctor for further help.Thank you
