General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is understandable to be concerned. Peanut allergies are usually severe with skin and respiratory involvement with wide spread rash and possibly difficulty breathing.

An allergic reaction to another substance is possible with the history of a puffy face.

It is also possible that she may have a viral illness- this would cause the excess mucus and the problems with her throat though not commonly associated with the puffy face.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
