Suggest Treatment For Fluid Filled Ear With Vertigo

I have self-diagnosed Vertigo. I called my family dr and he prescribed meclizine 3 Xs daily (July 23, 2014). I am white, overweight 66 year old female with lots of health problems and lots of other scrips. I have told this doctor that I feel fluid in my left ear. He has looked and says he sees nothing. Of course he doesn t. If he could see it, I would remove it. Do you think this caused my Vertigo, please?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query. Fluid accumulated in the external ear can be removed by yourself. That goes not cause vertigo.
Fluid accumulated in the middle ear due to eustachian tube dysfunction, can be detected only by can doctor by clinical examination and tympanometry test. It needs medication and minor surgical procedures to remove the fluid.
This can cause vertigo to dome patients.
I would advise you to consult with the doctor and get evaluated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
