Suggest Treatment For Fluid Filled Sacs In Breast

Hello, I am a 61 year old woman who goes annually for a routine mammogram. This time they discovered cysts in the right breast. The ultrasound lady said they were fluid filled sacs, and were round and smooth, and are benign. But the radiologist said that even though she is 94-97% certain there is nothing to worry about, she is going to do a needle biopsy tomorrow, just because, as she said They are clustered together so close and I can t see them all that clearly. I have been terrified for days and have been reading online that cysts, even clustered, usually require no further treatment. Does this mean she suspects something?

Hi welcome to HCM ...

Fibrocystic breast lesion needs no active management ....

Here FNAC or biopsy will be useful for confirmation of benign lesion and further subclassification of it ....To decide whether adenoma like condition present or not ....

And when mamogram shows any lesion along with clinical history it is better to conclude diagnosis with follow up biopsy .......

Don't worry and go for FNAC or biopsy for histopathological examination....

Consult surgeon for this ...

Take care
