Hello
Fluttering sensation in chest in the night . Coughing in the night . History of smoking , duration ?
All these symptoms are an indication of allergy for smoking ( 5-7 /day ) .
As smoking causes allergy in airways rout . Allergy causes bronchoconstriction , this produces cough ( more when temperature decreases as in the night time ,as in your case) .
Smoker's cough leads to asthmatic allergic bronchitis or asthma .
Diagnosis can be confirmed by pulmonary function test . Also get in X ray chest . Also get in blood for E S R ( if it is very high > 80-90 mm then consult a physician and get his opinion.
When such type of patient visit in my clinic I usually prescribe them to take monteleukast+ levoceterizine tablet for 5-7 days .
Also take some cough syrup ( the best if it contains terbutaline+ ambroxol+ clorpheniramine maleat) 2 T S F , three times in days .
Avoidance of smoking is necessary for the best treatment .
Hope this information will help you.
