Suggest Treatment For Folliculitis In Pubic Area
Hello, I have a history of eczema, acne, and now I have been suffering from folliculitis in the pubic area. I went to the dermatologist and she gave me a script for doxycycline mono 100 mg twice a day. I took them for a few months and it went away, however about a month or so after I stopped taking the pills I started getting it again. I have tried not shaving but I still get them. I would like to know if their is any home remedy that I can use as a regimen, since I do not want to keep taking medication. Please advise. Diane

Folliculitis is a bacterial infections.
Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests.
Please meet a dermatologist and request to do culture and sensitivity test on pus obtained from the lesion for exact diagnosis.
Once the exact bacteria is known, specific treatment can be given.
Improper use of antibiotic can lead to resistance.
