HI DOC.. IM 51 YEARS OLD AND AM SUFFERING FROM FOOT DROP IN THE LEFT LEG SINCE 5MONTHS.ALL TESTS HAVE BEEN DONE.THE TESTS SHOW EXCITEMENT IN THE LEFT N RIGHT LEG.AS THE REPORTS SAY.HAVE BEEN UNDERGOING PHYSIOTHERAPY SINCE 3 MONTHS.STILL NO PROGRESS AT ALL.THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST GAVE ELECTRIC STIMULATION ALSO BUT NO RELIEF AT ALL.KINDLY SUGGEST ALTERNATIVES.THANK YOU.
Since your are already doing physiotherapy and still not finding relief, the may need to be other methods of treatment like surgery that needs to be done for you.
There are various tendon transfer surgeries which can be done by a Specialist Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic surgeon.
As of now, continue using foot drop splint and Physiotherapy. Consult your Orthopaedic surgeon as soon as possible for surgical treatment.
Thanking you.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu
