I AM A 51 YR OLD FEMALE. 5'5, 155-160 LBS. THE TOP OF MY RIGHT FOOT HAS BEEN PROGRESSIVE CAUSING ME MORE & MORE PAIN. I ALREADY PLANTER FASCIITIS, SO I HAVE PRESCRIPTION INSERTS IN MY SHOES ALREADY. if I WALK TOO MUCH OR STAND FOR TOO LONG, MY FOOT LETS ME KNOW IT. I've NOTICED THAT MY FOOT STARTS TO SWELL SLIGHTLY WHEN THE PAIN STARTS GETTING SEVERE. THERE IS NO BRUISING & I DON'T RECALL DROPPING ANYTHING ON IT LATELY. ANY IDEAS?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms could be due to joint effusion, extensor tendinitis/fasciitis. I would suggest to consult orthopedics surgeon and undergo examination, x-ray, USG scan if needed. I advise you to take complete rest to foot, soak leg in warm water with added epsom salt. Wear orthotic device. Wear comfortable foot wear. Tablet DAN-SR. Other specific treatment depend on cause.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
