Suggest Treatment For Freckles And Moles On The Body

I have a lot of freckles and moles on my body. I am 43 in good health and no signs of melanoma - I see the dermatologist annually. Last appointment was in April (3 months ago). Both of my parents have had melanoma though - both are fine now. This morning I woke up with a blood blister on an existing mole on my stomach. It is black and when I touched it, it bled. It has not been bothering me and I never noticed it - it definitely was not there the day before yesterday when I was in the bathtub. I made the mistake of looking on the internet and it mentioned that this kind of blood blister can be fatal melanoma so now I am really worried. Is this true? I am hoping maybe just my jeans were rubbing against my belly too much!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If a mole bleed you may need to visit your dermatologist as soon as possible. You should undergo dermatoscopy and possibly even remove them surgically and check out by biopsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
