Hi doctor,I frequently got urine Infection after having sex. Although my regular doctor gave me some antibiotic: I took 2 pills day for 5 days, sometimes it’ went away. Then it comes back again. This time my doctor gave me doulble dose: 4 pills a day for 10 days, but I just took 5 days. Then I felt fine so I stopped, now it comes back again.Would you please give me your advice?
As the female urethra is shorter, ascending infection is more common, especially when the uterus is retroverted which leads to more exposure of the urethra to pressure. Since you have recurring postcoital infection, other factors like infection in the male partner, abnormal immune status, altered blood glucose levels, use of tampons, proper genital hygiene etc. must be checked. Urine culture is useful to plan proper management.
