Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are various modalities of options available for motions in ulcerative collitis patients. The most coomon one is being GI speiclic upset through loss of lacto bacilli, natural gut protector and processor as well. The secondary result is due to impaired physiology of bile enterohepatic circulation, malabsorption of certain nutrients through terminal ileum. The vitamins deficiency do play vital role in the diarrhea predominant ulcerative collitis condition.

Guidelines as follows:
- Strict dietary measures to avoid spices, non veg, junk items, dairy fat
- Prefer boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water, home made fresh butter milk
- Avoid smoking, alcohol if consuming
- Medications of GI specific antibiotic as rifaximin, metronidazole or others
- Pre and probiotic support with lacto bacillus, sachchharomysis, bullardie

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
