Hi,
I hope you are having a wonderful night and thank you in advance for being online this late to help me with my problem :). So around April of this year i started having a fishy smell in my vagina so i went to family dr and she treated me for Bacterial Vaginosis, but i'm horrible with antibiotics so i doubt i took them correctly. The smell went away for a few weeks but then it came back, so this time i went to an OBGYN and told him my symptoms he wasn't exactly sure because at the time i was on my menstral but he said he was suspicious so he gave me a prescription for these four pills and i took them all at once like the bottle said. It again went away for a couple of weeks and has now returned so i went back to see him but this time i wasn't on my period and he said it was a yeast infection and gave me a prescription for a cream and told me to douch 2 times a week with vinegar and water, he also said that i have a cyst on my ovary and is gave me a prescription for an antibiotic which i am currently taking now, i'm waiting to be done with the antibiotic before i take the yeast infection medicine. I know that BV can be spread sexually from me to a male but I also know that it can transfer from me to another woman, i'm not having sex with a woman but i do use sex toys on myself. I told my GYNO this but I also told him that I have an antibacterial spray for my toys and he said it shouldn't transfer back to me from the toys because of the spray that I have. I just am not sure because it keeps coming back and I don't understand why. My GYNO said that my discharge was lumpy which is why he thinks it's just yeast but i'm not so sure because the first time I started having these symptoms i got a yeast infection at the same time and i treated myself for the yeast infection but of course the fishy smell was still there so that's why i went to the dr. I also have an IUD right now called the merena, i've had it in for almost two years and i love it i just think is might be the reason the BV keeps coming back, but like i said my GYNO thinks this is just a yeast infection. Again thank you for your help in advance.
