Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination And Cloudy Urine
I had a colonoscopy one week ago. Since then, urination feels different..seems like a have to urinate alot and there is some stinging, cloudy, urine does not smell. I have had lower back ache along with this. The symptoms seem less each day, but the urine is yellow and very cloudy. Is this connected with the colonoscopy. I never have urinary tract infections, but had kidney disease at age 15. Age is 69 and female. Thank you.
Colonoscopy procedure is not causing bladder or urinary tract infection because the scope is inserted in your anal area and not in your external urethral opening (where urine flows).
The only explanation in your case is that the prep used before colonoscopy is causing dehydration as it cleans the colon. This lack in fluids might put at high risk for UTI especially if you have a previous history of kidney disease. This explains why you get bladder or uti after colonoscopy procedure.
Get further urine analysis, urine culture and abdominal ultrasound done to determine the right bacterial agent and get it treated accordingly.
Hope it was of help! Dr.Albana

Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination And Cloudy Urine
Hi, I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns. Having stinging, cloudy, non smelly urine and frequent urination are suggestive for possible urinary tract infection. Colonoscopy procedure is not causing bladder or urinary tract infection because the scope is inserted in your anal area and not in your external urethral opening (where urine flows). The only explanation in your case is that the prep used before colonoscopy is causing dehydration as it cleans the colon.
