Suggest Treatment For Fungal Infection In The Toenails

I recently got a pedicure. 3 weeks later I removed the polish only to find out that I now have a toenail fungus. I have never in my life experienced a toenail fungus and I attribute this to the pedicure. 1 week later I went to my Dr. and she said to use Mycocide NS twice daily which I have now done for 1 week. Both of my big toe toenails are now pulling away from my nailed and pretty much falling off. now, the fungus does not smell or ooze but the big toe toenails and one of my pinky toe toenails are dark yellow 3/4 of the way to the cuticle. I cannot take the oral medication due to a liver disorder. Can you suggest anything else? At least recommend something that will save the nail?

Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi . I understand your concern.Toenail fungus, also known as onychomycosis, is a very common problem.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
-Apply apple cider vinegar diluted with water
Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water. Soak your toenail in this solution for 30 minutes daily. When done, dry your toenail thoroughly.
-Make an antifungal exfoliating scrub by some coarsely ground rice flour with a few spoons of apple cider vinegar. Apply this paste on and around the affected nail and gently scrub the area.
-Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has antiseptic as well as antifungal properties.
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil in one teaspoon of olive oil or coconut oil.Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on the affected toenail.
-Apply baking soda
Add one-half cup of baking soda, one-fourth cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and one-half cup of Epsom salt to four cups of hot water. Mix the ingredients thoroughly, and then add one-fourth cup of white vinegar to it.Soak the affected toenail in this solution for about 10 minutes.Wash with clean water and dry your foot.
-Apply Oil of Oregano
Oil of oregano has antiseptic, antibacterial, antiparasitic, antiviral, analgesic and antifungal properties.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
