Suggest Treatment For Gastritis

Can gastritis be healed? I had an acute episode of stomach issues 2 years ago, probably from long term NSAID use for chronic pain. I have not taken any NSAIDs in 2 years, have eliminated dairy & gluten from my diet, and most of the pain has cleared up, but I continue to have gastritis.

Hi,

Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining that can cause symptoms such as pain, nausea, and vomiting. The good news is that gastritis can be treated, and with some changes to your diet and lifestyle, you can help promote the healing of the stomach lining. Here are some suggestions:
* Avoid irritants: Avoiding irritants like alcohol, caffeine, acidic foods, and spicy foods can help reduce the inflammation in your stomach lining.
* Eat smaller, frequent meals: Eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day can help reduce the amount of acid that your stomach produces, which can help reduce inflammation.
* Avoid lying down after eating: Lying down after a meal can cause stomach acid to flow back into your esophagus and irritate your stomach lining.
* Manage stress: Stress can aggravate gastritis, so it's important to manage your stress levels through techniques like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.
* Medications: Medications like proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and H2 blockers can help reduce the amount of acid your stomach produces and allow your stomach lining to heal. Antacids can also provide temporary relief from symptoms.

It's important to work with your healthcare provider to determine the best treatment plan for your specific case of gastritis. In some cases, further testing or treatment may be necessary to identify and address the underlying cause of your gastritis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
