Suggest Treatment For Gastroparesis

Hi I have been medically diagnosed with gastropareses which medication doesn t seem to help. I get reoccurring bladder infections which seem to make it a lot worse. I am a 56 year old female. I know there are certain gas forming foods which I try to avoid for e.g. Cabbage, onions etc. is there really such a thing as leaky gut. If I drink any alcohol I find I get a ridiculous buzzing feeling in my body and guts ache when lying down. Obviously then I do try to avoid it but feel that I miss out on a lot of foods and things that everyone else enjoys. Do you know of anything I can do to or take to lesson symptoms.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Cholestyramine is a medicine which binds bile in the digestive tract. It works in the small intestine and large intestine. It does not cause lowered bile secretion so using it in case of gastroparesis is pointless. If you have tried also Metoclopramide and Erythromycin, and it do not help you, surgery might be the best solution for you. Please consult general surgeon and discuss it.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
