Suggest Treatment For Genital Herpes

I have been diagnosed with genital herpes just about a year ago and I believe I am having my second outbreak. I am experiencing a white milly discharge, intense itching, 3 bumps, and some burning. It also burns when I pee and it hits them. They are on my vulva. It also looks like the skin on my clitoris is peeling off and I noticed the white discharge was right under the hood also. I initially went to the doctor on Monday and got tested for a UTI and bacteria and it came back normal. My vagina smells somewhat fishy too. Could this also be a uti along with an outbreak or is this all related to an outbreak? Also I was just prescribed Valtrex today 500mg 2x a day for 3 days, how long will it take to kick in?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a genital herpes. I suggest using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg. I also suggest to use a cream for local application such as Acyclovir cream.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
