Suggest Treatment For Gout And Joint Effusion

Hi there, I was just diagnosed with Gout and joint effusion this morning. Will it go away on it s own with me icing and elevating my knee? The doctor also put me on Mitigare. Would you recommend draining of the fluid. It is pretty painful. Thank you.

Hello
I would like to suggest you take NSAIDS (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs)- Painkillers, for sometime.
This will help in decreasing the inflammation and pain of your joints.
However joint effusion may be partially alleviated by heat or cold ice packs alternatively.

Thanks
Dr. Tripat Mehta
