Suggest Treatment For Green Stool With Vomiting In A Child?

Dear Doctor I have small baby of 4+ months. The boy s stool is green since last one month and occasionally vomits. We have approached a pediatrician who has prescribed the following medicines. 1. Junior Lazol (1/2 tablet / day) 2. EMESET Syrup ( Dosage 2.5 ml / two times a day) 3. Walamycin (5ml / three times a day) After using the medicines on first day the baby is having loose motions (about 6 times) and is not sleeping in the night. Kindly advise the course of action

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of green stool with vomiting. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons, it seems to me that viral infection is the major cause for your condition along with poor and inadequate digestion of food. Need not to worry. You should give child food in small and frequent intervals and very light and non spicy food has to be given. I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination. Doctor will check vitals , take history and order blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antiviral like acyclovir along with anti pyretic and multivitamin supplement . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for proper examination and start treatment accordingly. Avoid intake of outside food and take light and non spicy food.
