Suggest Treatment For Hair Fall Problem

Hello Doctor. Im a 26 year old female.Since two years, I have been having hair fall problem. I have been taking treatment for the same. Have been advised to use Hairbless solution. I got my ferritin and TSH levels checked 2 years back. TSH was normal so was ferritin. But the ferritin level was more towards the lower end. Also, my applications of the solution are not regular. Also, i have read that if Minoxidil preparations are stopped then hairfall continues. Im overweight and also suffer from irregular menses. I wanted to know if irregular menses are related to hair fall problems and also if Minoxidil preparations are worth the application.

Hello,

Firstly, irregular menses can be related to hair fall problems. Hormonal imbalances, such as those seen in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), can cause both hair fall and irregular menstrual cycles. It is important to have your hormones checked and evaluated by a healthcare provider to determine if this is the underlying cause of your hair fall.

Secondly, Minoxidil preparations can be effective in reducing hair fall and promoting hair regrowth, but it is important to note that it may take several months of consistent use to see results. Additionally, as you mentioned, if the use of Minoxidil is stopped, hair fall may continue. Speaking with your healthcare provider before starting or stopping any medication is important.

In terms of your low ferritin levels, iron deficiency may contribute to hair fall. If your ferritin levels are still on the lower end, you may benefit from iron supplementation. Again, discussing this with your healthcare provider before starting any supplements is important. Lastly, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet, as these can contribute to overall health and well-being, which may positively impact hair health.

In summary, irregular menses may be related to hair fall, Minoxidil preparations can be effective but require consistent use, low ferritin levels may contribute to hair fall, and a healthy lifestyle can contribute to overall hair health. I recommend speaking with your healthcare provider to further discuss these options and determine the best course of action for you.
