Suggest Treatment For Hallucinations Caused By High Fever
my brother in law who is 82 years old and until recently has been in quite good condition was rushed to the hospital after being found by his daughter very sob cynotic and after fainting. on arrival at the er he was un responsive very high pulse .the paramedic said he had fibulation and very low oxygen saturation. the doctor told her his heart is enlarged pneumonia, fluid on the lungs very high temp causing hallucinations and irregular rate.Hehad a cabg many years ago what could this be?
This might be a heart failure causing filling of fluids in lungs, respiratory distress and fainting due to lack of oxygen to brain. There might be an ongoing arrhythmia causing high pulse rate and ischemic attack.
He is an old heart patient with history of CABG in the past, so he should be evaluated with an ECG, Chest X-ray, ECHO and brain scan. Cardiac enzymes should be sent to rule out any heart attack.
For the time being, his vitals should be supported, he should be oxygenated and if required, intubated and taken on a respirator. Anti arrhythmic drugs should be started to restore heart rhythm. Wide spectrum antibiotic course is needed for pneumonia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
