Suggest Treatment For Hand Tremors In An Elderly Person

Hi, I am not sure you can help me, but here is my question. Afew years ago I was told I had a rare disease and I cannot remember the name of it. It is because of my hand tremors, usually only when I try to use my hands and not when I am not doing anything. I was told that usually it appears in younger people and it was strange that I am now having this problem I am now 70 I was about 67 when diagnosed. Now it is getting worse and I can;t remember the name of it. Can you help?

This is called action tremor. The cause can be essential tremor, Parkinsonism, enhanced (by anxiety, coffee, alcohol, smoking, low blood sugar, hypothyroidism and certain medicines) physiological tremor, psychogenic, cerebellar tremor, or multiple sclerosis or Wilson’s disease.
Advice
1.     Consult a neurologist for exact diagnosis and treatment
2.     Alprazolam 0.25 mg at bed time for 10 days
3.     Stop smoking, coffee, caffeinated beverages, alcohol or any other drug of abuse
4.     Avoid mental stress and anxiety
5.     investigations
a.     blood sugar (F & PP)
