Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My twenty four year old son is a house painter and often must work on his knees. He has developed very large, hard bumps on both knees. He says they are painless and they seem to be solid, like bone. What is this? He uses knee pads now but they have not gotten smaller.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of hard large bumps on knees which occurs due to blockage of clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected and it could be due to underlying systemic pathology. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do yoga and meditation daily. You should get hormone levels monitored. Make use of product containing benzoyl peroxide. Take Multivitamin supplements. Drink plenty of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. Apply Adapalene gel once at night. Also wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day.If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
