Hi Dear,

As per your query hard lump on tongue is nothing but inflammation of papillae of tongue. Papillae can become enlarged due to various reasons. It is also known as transient lingual papillitis . There can be allergy to any particular food or too much consumption of acidic or spicy food . I would suggest you to do warm saline rinses , maintain good oral hygiene , do antiseptic mouthwash rinses ( listrine ) and avoid acidic and spicy food . If condition doesn't get better in a week and bump come back again then consult oral pathologist for proper examination and to rule out cause like glossitis .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
