Suggest Treatment For Hard Painful Lump On Scalp

hello! about 5 weeks ago I developed a hard painful red lump on my scalp under my hair. my doc gave me antibiotics for it and treated it as an infection. I took the antibiotics for the 10 day course he told me to. now I notice there is a bald spot about the size of a dime where the lump was. there is still a tiny little bump there but its not painful and its only about 1/10th the size it was. should I be worried about this?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it could be infection and may be abscess formation in lymph node, because of infection hair follicle must have been destroyed such hair less patch could be irreversible, you may need dermatological opinion, in differential diagnosis fungal infection need to be ruled out, if this is was not the infection then you may get the hair back very soon in case of intact hair follicles, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
