Suggest Treatment For Hay Fever, Blood In Nasal Drip And Sinus

Hi I suffer from hay fever and sinus regulary and from time to time I have noticed blood in my nasal drip and sometimes in clear coloured nasal drip I notice this in the mornings only, I wake up and need to spit out the nasal drip from my mouth and it sometimes contains blood. I can treat my sinus without requiring anti-bitotics, I use a saline nasal spray and apply a warm cloth that has been soaked in warm water and eucalyptus oil to the area and it assists in clearing the mucus.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your problem can be most likely due to allergic rhinitis. Applying steroid nasal sprays like Fluticasone will be helpful. If there is blood in nasal drip then it is most likely sinusitis and antibiotics will be required. I would suggest antibiotics like Co Amoxiclav in such cases. Taking vitamin C is also good.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
