Suggest Treatment For Headache And Fever Along With Diarrhea

Hi. Last friday I developed a fever (101.4 at highest) and headache with diarrhea. No nausea. After 4 days on Ibuprofen the fever broke and I felt better. Diarrhea has persisted. Tonight, I felt the fever returning. No headache. Fever currently 100 and diarrhea remains. I am never sick. Any thoughts?

Hi
You could have simple gastroenteritis but if advise you to get routine blood tests done. Thrombocytopenia, Anaemia, or increased total counts are to be looked out for.

So you need to be drinking plenty of fluids preferably electrolyte rich such as tender coconut water or ors. Also you could avoid fatty meals and add probiotics such as yoghurt to the diet.

I advise you to take the following treatment
Tab. Paracetamol 650mg two to three times daily depending on the temperature
Tab. O2 twice daily for five days
Tab. Eldopar twice daily for five days
Tab. Sporolac twice daily for three days
ORS powder two packets daily.

Hope this helps!
Regards
