Suggest Treatment For Headache And Neck Pain

I had a headache come on 2 days ago. Dull at first in the sides of my neck and head and in the back of my head. It went away last night and came back tonight. it starts dull and comes in waves of severe throbbing and pain that brings me to my knees, what is it?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after reviewing your history following is symptomwise approach:

1. Most headche in general practice are ordinary tension headaches and need just an analgesic and a tranquiliser, however one must check the following as routine:

. Blood pressure for hypertension
. Check for sinus tenderness
. Check tenderness on nape of neck or pain on neck movements to exclude Cervical Spondylitis like:
. pain and stiffness of back/neck in morning
. neck pain radiating to arm/shoulder
. tingling numbness in one hand

2. If there is any neurological sign as weakness of cranial nerves or limbs, then seek an opinion of Neurologist (for C.T. Scan)

3. If it is throbbing then one must manage on the line of Migraine.
