Good afternoon. I'm sorry to hear of your wife's dilemmas and wish her a speedy recovery. Also, for future reference you may wish to know that I am a Headache Specialist in the U.S. and you may direct future questions directly to me by using the following address web address:

As far as your wife's condition is concerned I don't know exactly what Gabamax SR is since we don't have that brand name in the U.S. It sounds to be
gabapentin of some forumation and along with the SR sounds to be long acting. That may be the equivalent to what we have her called Trokendi which is a 24 hr. duration formulation of Gabpentin. I'm sure the doctors are giving her that medication for her
back pain. If her
headaches only began shortly after starting this medication then, I think it is altogether possible that the medication could be the cause. The way to find out is by speaking with the doctors first but in my opinion I would ask a patient to likely stop that medication for a brief period of time to see if the headaches resolve. Of course, I understand that her back pain seems to be under better control but if we want to really tell whether or not the medication is to blame for her headaches then, I would say a minimum trial of 7-10 days off the Gabamax is the way to go. The
drowsiness may also be from the Gabamax since that's a common side effect of gabapentin.
Restlessness I don't have a good explanation for since gabapentin should really calm her down if anything.
Are there any other NEW medications she may be on?
You also mention your wife's weight as being 36 kg. That is very small. What is her height? Has she been losing weight? Is she not eating well? Because of course, not eating properly or losing a lot of weight in a short amount of time can also be a cause of headaches.
If you find this response to be at all helpful in answering your question then, a little written feedback as well as a STAR RATING would be greatly appreciated.
