Suggest Treatment For Headache And Tingling Sensation In The Hands

Fourteen year old boy. Very thin frame. Had migraine headache, dry heaves a couple days ago. Seemed to improve with headache lessening and lots of water. Not really been 100 Percent. Third day complains of tingling in his hands and feet. Fourth day ...today complains of muscles in his legs hurting. Doesn t feel well and saying his urine is dark. Also has a slight headache again. ( he does get migraines and as a youngster did have absent seizures.

Hi,

The first step would be to have some blood tests in particular including electrolyte panel and creatine kinase which is an enzyme elevated in case of muscle damage.

If the tests come out alright I would say that those symptoms of dry heaving, tingling, widespread aching etc are either in the setting of a viral infection which should be transitory or due to anxiety.

Anxiety is commonly associated with a tension-type headache. As for medication, I would advise only over the counter medication like Ibuprofen and relaxation exercises.
