Suggest Treatment For Headache, Body Pain And Diarrhea In An Elderly Person

I am a nurse practitioner in NH. Today saw a 68 year old man with 5 day hx of dry cough, headache, body aches, fever to 101, now has diarrhea and nausea and since onset of symptoms has rash: his trunk nearly covered with large ovals ( up to 20 cm across) of flat pink rash, barely raised at edges and slight central clearing. Pending testing for CMP, CBC w diff, sed rate, lyme and Parvovirus B19. no known tick bites. any ideas?

Hello,

It may be due to stomach infection.

For further assessment, you may require complete hemogram, stool analysis, ultrasound abdomen after physician consultation.

You may require antibiotics tablet metronidazole after consultation.

Keep your self hydrated by oral rehydration solution.

Take a soft and balanced diet.

For pain, you can take tablet acetaminophen.
