Suggest Treatment For Headache, Fever And Tiredness In Child

Hi there, My son is 10years old, he came home from school today with a headache, I took his temp 38.8 gave him calpol. He was feeling very tired so slept for a while, he woke up and temp had gone down. However it s gone back up again I ve give him calpol again. He is very hot to touch, I ve stripped him down and cool face cloth on forehead. He is gone back to bed now. Is there anymore I can do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of headache, fever and tiredness which is due to viral infection as if fever episodes occurs twice in a day. Need not to worry it is a self limiting condition. Give child Paracetamol at mild dose every 4-6 hrly. You can give child Tylenol as well. If this medicine will not give desired effect you should give Meftal P to your child. Symptoms will resolve its own in 3-4 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit Pediatrician once and get blood tests done and go for through examination and start treatment.
