Suggest Treatment For Headache, Nausea, Tiredness And Paraesthesia Of The Hands
Went hiking today, 18km bush walking. Had a headache for 3 hours (unusual). Then after the walk, felt hot, pink cheeks. half an hour later pins and needles hands and lower arm, fingers stiff, feeling nauseas. It passed with some fresh air and a drink of water. Then cold and very tired. Any idea what this may be?
This may be a heat stroke. This happens when patients overexercise or walk long distances in hot weather. You will need to take plenty of water and electrolytes as well. Oral rehydration solutions or solutions for athletes may be helpful. You will need to rest and keep yourself in a comfortable normal temperature.
If no improvement with these measures or you notice any worsening please see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
