Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Blurred Vision

I ve had a small headache since Monday on the left side of my forehead. Tuesday, I flushed my sinuses and blew my nose and felt very cloudy, dizzy, hot, and blurred vision for a couple of minutes. That subsided, but the headache got worse over the course of the day and double vision (left of center) started and got worse by that night. Yesterday, I saw a neurologist who examined me and said I have VIth (6th) Nerve Palsy in my left eye. I had a CT of my head, neck and sinuses performed and a CTA of my head and neck. There are no aneurysms or tumors seen (yay!), only a 3cm left maxillary sinus cyst (and C5-6 spinal stenosis). But no sign of what s saucing this. My Question: because the major symptoms started after the sinus wash and blowing my nose, could the cyst in my sinus be causing the 6th Nerve Palsy and headache? Could I have dislodged (or lodged) something in my sinuses causing this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the sudden headache with blurred vision causing Abducens nerve palsy indicate possible issue with cavernous sinus thrombosis most likely. However, an MR Angiography is best method against CT Angiography scan to reveal the more details of this condition.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
