Suggest Treatment For Headaches

My Mother had been suffering from Cluster of headaches at the back of the head and neck pain since 2012. We visited a neurologist and he prescribed Analgesics and diazepams. For the first few months the treatment went well, but now she had been complaining regarding Cluster of headaches in the back of her head with severe vertigo mostly and frequently. We visited the Neurologist again and this time he prescribed the following medications, Pregablin 75mg, Cinnarizine 75mg, Betahistine Dihydrochloride 16mg, Flunarizine 5mg She had been recovering well, but still the Cluster kind of pain at the back of the head is sometimes severe and makes her feel like vertigo. As there was no means of communication so I was unable to email. I would be waiting for your earliest response. Please reply with your kind consideration regarding the patient.

1. Since opinion of Neurologist is taken and apart from cluster headache there is nothing specific and treatment is directed towards Vertigo thus:

I. Ask for Hb%, X-ray cervical spine, ENT & Ophthalmic checkup.

II. check her blood pressure, blood sugar level.

III. Recurrent episodes of vertigo, with nornal between the attacks, one should suspect Meniere's Disease.

IV. along with anti vertigo drugs prescribed to her, add vasodilator drugs like pentoxyphyllin and xanthinol nicotinate.
