Suggest Treatment For Hearing Loss Along With Tinnitus

Hello, My daughter woke up with hearing loss on both ears with tinnitus, but primarily R ear. Was seen late last night at urgent care. Doctor checked her for possible ear infection, was told ears were not infected. Doctor also checked for wax and was told no wax buildup. He prescribed prednisone 20 mg, 3 tablets orally daily for 5 days, then 1 tablet for 2 days, then 1/2 tablet for 2 days. She started taking prednisone today. Will refer her to ENT specialist, possible CTscan. Thank you.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have tinnitus and hearing loss which could be due to acoustic neuroma, ear wax buildup, TMJ problem, inner ear infection and systemic condition like meniere's disease.

Need not to worry. For now apply warm dry compresses. You should put anti-inflammatory ear drops. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like hearing test , vitals , blood test , examination with otoscope and CT scan. Doctor may remove wax , prescribe antibiotics in case of infection , anti inflammatory, and corticosteroid ear drops.
