Suggest Treatment For Heart Murmur In A Child

My son, who is 5yrs old, has just seen a doctor and he said he has a heart murmur and suggested he sees a cardiologist. My son has also had 3 headaches within the last month 1 really bad that we had to go to the emergency room. The doctor is concerned that my child may have some type of infection due to his heart murmur that is going to is brain. If this is the case what would be the procedure as far as worst case scenario with making my child better?
