Suggest Treatment For Heart Regurgitation Problem In Elderly

Dear Dr. My name is Rajhan aged 62 years. Having heart MVP regurgitation problem for the past ten years, but regularly taking medicine under regular consultation with cardiac physician, and postponning my surgery, for valve repair or replacement.I am taking the following medicine:- 1. lanoxin, Torsikind 10mg, Torlactone-10mg, and Prolomet XL 25mg At Present discomfort is increased and affecting my regular activities. Please advise me whether I have to go for surgery, and if so what is the latest method of surgery can you suggest.Awaiting your reply Rajhan. YYYY@YYYY

Hi. You have not provided the complete echo report. Repair of valve is always better than replacement in mvp. Surgery in mvp is always done before the development of left ventricle dilation. Perhaps u have developed some element of heart failure as your symptoms are. Do not waste further time. Do surgery as soon as possible. Because this disease will progress and cause heart failure PAH atrial fibrillation. Take care.
