Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm 29 and I'ma regular smoker of weed. In the last few years I've, on occasion, experienced a fast heart rate, shortness of breath and numb hands after smoking weed. I was with a friend earlier and it happended again after a smoking a spliff. I got him to feel my hands and he could feel they were shaking. They were completely numb and I felt really cold (especially hands and feet). My heart was really pounding hard too. I was freaked cause I thought the numbness might be signalling an imminent heart attack. Is this serious? Should I stop smoking weed?
definitely this occurs due chemicals present in the weed. it tend to stimulate heart and peripheral vasoconstriction leading decrease blood supply to hands leading to tingling sensation. Also it increases blood pressure. Smoking also lead heart problems and attack so on priority smoking should be stopped.
