Suggest Treatment For Heavy Bleeding After Fitted With Mirena Coil

Hi, i had the mirena coil fitted 9 months ago for heavy bleeding,ive recently gone back to my gp,because i am still bleeding and spotting most of the time. she has now given me cerazette as a top up to try and stop the bleeding. i have only been taking the cerazette about a week,and my bleeding is still occuring. will this stop soon.

Hello,

Heavy bleeding can occur as side effect of Mirena. If cerazette is not controlling bleeding, it is better to get the mirana IUD removed and consider alterbate form of contraception.
