Suggest Treatment For Heavy Bleeding During Periods
Hi,i got my last period 6 March 2016 which lasted for about 5 days with heavy bleeding. Then the period restarted on 22 March and has not stopped since then. I have taken 2 tablets of dicynone 500 since yesterday with Ponstan. Maybe the bleeding has reduced a little but it hasn t stopped yet. Similar incident had taken place 3 yrs back, when I visited a doctor and she gave a medication after which the bleeding had stopped. Kindly advise what should I do?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
To control heavy bleeding exact underlying cause needs to be found on basis of exact type of bleeding, patients health parameters, physical examination and pathological tests to find hormonal or uterine problems. Depending on cause specific drug is advised by expert gynecologist. (Medicines, hormones or surgical treatment). No self medication is advisable. Please consult a gynecologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
