Suggest Treatment For Heavy Cold And Nasal Congestion
Hi there, I've had a pretty bad cold for a week and can't seem to shift my blocked nose. I've been blowing my nose constantly for the past week and it's just not clearing at all. Now it's beginning to hurt my sinuses, and i'm even getting headaches due to blowing my nose. Yesterday, i also had a nose bleed after blowing my nose. Despite all this blowing it still feels as though there is something blocking my right nostril, and it just won't budge! Thanks :)
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns. ..
As per your complain it seems that you had an Upper Respiratory Track Infection and it has led to infection in sinuses leading to Sinusitis.. The fluid accumulation in the sinuses can lead to congestion in the nose as sinuses drain through nose.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and investigations like PNS VIEW of sinuses or MRI OF sinuses to confirm the cause.. In case of Sinusitis you will be advised to take antibiotics like Levofloxacin, Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil, decongestant Oral as well and nasal drops, saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and steroidnasal spray..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
