Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been coughing for a little over a week. I have no other symptoms. I have seen a doctor but they said it was allergies and to keep taking over the counter meds until it subsides. This same issue occurred last year and the year before around this time of year. I just want to stop coughing. I mostly cough when I talk so it can be very taxing to do my job (insurance agent).
The pattern does seem seasonal and it could quite be possible that you are experiencing seasonal allergies. I would recommend taking the anti-histamine medications like montelukast which help suppress such symptoms almond allow you to go through the day in an a symptomatic manner.
Do also get a Mantoux test and a chest X-ray conducted please.
Best wishes.
