Suggest Treatment For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

I have had my tubes tied for 20yrs now I have always had heavy periods and some clots painful cramping periods..i have had some abnormal paps off and on precervical cancer cells... last several yrs now they have come back normal no problems. I m 46 I have not had my period for 2months now.. Is this the start of pre menopause Should I be concerned and make an appt with my obgyn.. Or should I wait a month or two ti see if I will get my period?
