Suggest Treatment For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

In June I got a steroid shot in each SI joint, I was about to start my period then, but it was delayed two weeks. Now 5 months later, my periods are still being weird. My cycle length has changed from 30 days to 26 days, and I ovulate only about 7 or 8 days past my period start date. My periods are extremely light. Never in my life have I had light periods, I ve always had horribly heavy periods. Now it s very light. Also, I ve been soooo irritable 24/7. It s like pms all the time. I was convinced I was pregnant end of sept./beginning oct. And took probably 20 pregnancy tests. Lol but they were all negative. I m really confused and tired of feeling irritable and emotional. I could just cry right now for no reason at all. I m 34, also on a strict diet now, maybe that s why I feel like crying and screaming all the time. Haha not depressed at all, just confused and annoyed! Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding. If bleeding persists better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
