Suggest Treatment For Heavy Vaginal Bleeding And Acne In A Teenager

My daughter will be 15 in August, she had heavy periods and a lot of acne. She is in a lot of sports so her de put her on BC pills. She is not very tall as my daughters and myself are all late bloomers. Is this going to affect her growth? I do not want her to be on it if it does

Hi

Birth control pills do not affect growth. After normal puberty and first period, all women would have attained most of her adult height, and starting pills after this time does not interfere with this process.

Birth control pills do not interfere with the ability of a female, teen or adult, to have children in the future.

Long term side effects such as fluid retention, migraine, irregular periods ,liver dysfunction, increased risk of venous thrombi can occur when used for years. These complications should be monitored in chronic use of the drug.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
