Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my blood doctor found that I have hemochromatosis . also see a rheumatologist regularly. I tested that I have two of the three genes for lupus. she said that I do not have lupus. my joints are getting worse.what is the chance of contracting the disease or is it possible that I actually have it.
Treatments for hemochromatosis include therapeutic phlebotomy (fleh-BOT-o-me), iron chelation (ke-LAY-shun) therapy, dietary changes, and treatment for complications. The goals of treating hemochromatosis include reducing the amount of iron in your body to normal levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
