Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an EGD, (d/t feeling a lump in my throat near adams apple) . I am female 56 yo non- smoker and was concerned as my dad passed @ age 59 of esophageal cancer. All was fine except for common hernia stomach tissue 1 cm growth . I was told this could be burned off if it becomes bothersome. The scope was May 25th and growth feels larger already when swallowing. Could this become cancerous if left? Are there any major complications from burning off this type tissue? I would have asked my GI doctor more had I not been under versed influence and depended on my husband to tell me what the doctor had reported since versed causes 12 hours of memory loss after the scope. Thanks! Terri
