Suggest Treatment For High BP And Blood Sugar Levels

I recently went to the ER, was sent there by my primary doctor because she feared for my blood pressure (190/130) however the ER did nothing, no meds or fluids were given, came into the ER with high blood pressure and left with high blood sugar hours later, in unable to get ahold of my primary until Monday and right now feeling weird and want to know if I should return to the ER with hopes they do something this time.

Hello,

Reducing sugar and salt content in your diet should be enough before you start formal treatment.

190/130 blood pressure not considered a medical emergency and I do not think your ER will be of any help at this point in time unless there are more pressing needs for early intervention.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
