Hello,
High blood pressure is commonly due to stress, inadequate sleep, unhealthy diet, kidney disease, thyroid issues, genetics or being overweight.
Unmanaged
hypertension commonly triggers CAD & Stroke. Quit smoking, alcohol, fatty food, cut on salt intake, cut on high protein diet & red meat. Do regular exercises, maintain a low BMI, avoid sedentary lifestyle. Stay well hydrated.
You are suggested to see a GP & get physically examined. Get blood (CBC,
Lipid profile,
stress test, T3, T4 TSH,
Urinalysis, etc) & Imaging tests done to detect thyroid, kidney or any developing CAD.
Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. You may need diuretics.
Hope I have answered your query, take care. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
